The Fifth District reversed a fee award to a Wife in a Family Law matter in Marriage of Monroe, Case No. F061014, (5th Dist., Nov. 14, 2011) (unpublished). The Court found that the Trial Court abused it’s discretion in awarding the $10,000 fee based on the unsworn oral argument and unsubstantiated fees charged to the Wife.

Just a little reminder that you must have those attorney fee requests submitted along with documentation which substantiates the charges to the client for the court to consider an attorney fee award.
